Update

Well some of you might remember my partner paid £28K and bought a 2.2 CDI C-Class Merc Sports Coupe in June which looks the business.

Its now covered about 10,000 miles. Unfortunately its been in the garage 3 times for an electrical fault to be sorted out, the brake assisted steering and electric stability program warning messages keep coming onto the computer screen. Now the mercedes CD player has given up the ghost and won't work in temperatures less than 14 degrees.

We're now told the electrical problem is actually a known fault and mercedes have advised the dealer of a modified wiring fix.

Adding to these problems, the dealer insisted palming her off with a tiny little A Class to use while repairs were made. Following a few phone calls made by me to Rivervale of Brighton and a lot of hassle, they eventually relented and agreed to lend her an E-Class Estate.

If I hadn't a £2000 deposit on the new shape SLK next year after all this hassle I'd b****r off to another dealership.

So at least its not just CC's that end up with repeated trips back to the dealer.

Yes Derek, it appears they hadn't ironed out all the faults even after 12 months with the new C-Class Coupe. Am also a little worried now about what to expect with the new version of the SLK, I've put some serious money down already and do hope they iron out the faults, cos like you, I don't want a lemon :(

We also had been given a chance to try out a new version of the CLK the other day for when my girlfriend eventually changes her car when I went through a red light by accident, first time ever in my whole life!

Sods law, there was a car coming through the junction and I slammed on the brakes. The salesmans face was a picture!

Thak God those brakes were excellent. Actually the salesman was so calm, didn't butt an eyelid, they must be trained well by mercedes I suppose.
