Hi,

I have been lurking to this awesome forum since March 2002, when I bought my CC.
I have the 1.6CC (silver) and I live in Greece, where the streets are full of bumps (awful!!). My impressions so far:

1) Engine is fine, although there is no much strength until the 2000rpm. You need to be at the 3000+ rpm in order to see its true power.
2) The CC handles great in fast turns.
3) The car is noisy. I can hear a lot of the road noise (from the tyres), and there is a lot of rattling especially on road holes and bumps. I use often the lubricant trick but that only lasts for 2-3 weeks. Another trick I found is to open/close the roof clatch above the driver's seat.
4) Rattling is vey annoying. Not only do the front windows rattle but also the back ones!! Especially when they are down in the doors the windows rattle every time I fall in a small hole. Any ideas?
5) I don't like the speakers size on the doors. 16" in the front and 10" on the back don't let you install an ICE setup with good bass. Furthermore, when I put a lot of bass, the front doors rattle a bit in very low frequencies.
6) Engine, electrics and mechanical parts seem to work well. I haven't needed any replacement so far.
7) The car looks great especially when the roof is open.
8) I love the car despite its problems.

Please, please could anyone suggest anything else for the windows rattling besides the lubricant trick?

Yannis :D

This is a feature of all 16v engines, isn't it?

like most road cars its a mid range engine.........

so u the revs pick up from about 3000-5000 revs. U dont expect it to be pulling from under 3000 revs do u?
MMMMmmmmmm V-TEC u gotta love it :)

It is, but the PUG's engine is extremely weak at those rpm compared to other 16V cars. You can see that when trying to start the CC in a slope.

My impressions after 7 hours or so:

No leaks so far - perfect weather for testing them as well :P

Bit disappointed with the turning circle - or maybe the Fiesta just has an incredibly good one.

That's about it so far. Everything seems to be working as it should, except the sun. :D

the turning circle is smaller in the cc than in a fiesta.

No it isn't. If you really want to argue about it, come around to my house and turn out of my drive. I have a Fiesta and a 206cc there at the moment and I can tell you categorically that the Fiesta's circle is tighter.

depends what fiesta u have. i had a zetec-s and i know its turning circle was slightly larger than the 1.25 zetec. but the cc is DEFINATLY smaller compared to the zetec-s. i own 1 for 2 years. :D
