Hi

I had my Supership programmed into my 206cc SE today.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE

I had a chip previously on my 306 GTi-6 and wasn't too impressed but on this car it loves it.

It has noticable faster throttle response, faster acceleration and mid range power is excellent.

Mark,

How much was it ?

Where did you get it fitted - near Dunfermline ?

How did it affect your insurance ?

Thanks

Derek

I got it fitted at Falkland Performance Centre http://www.falkland.co.uk who are based in Glenrothes Fife (biggest Superships dealer in the UK)

It is about £225 ish for it to be supplied and fitted (you do get a good dsicount if you are a member of the PGAC - normally free fitting which knocks it under the £200 mark.

My insurance covers it as I can have up to 10bhp extra as part of the agreement. Most performance and modified insurers only take a few extra pounds.

Another thing most people who have a chip don't bother telling their insurance co. but that's your risk.

If it works like my GTi-6 it will save fuel as well.

Well impressed.

Mark,

Thanks for the info.

I'll need to prioritise my extra's  currently thinking about cd changer, rear spoiler, ecosse vents, and superchips. was going to get it colour coded but i may have changed my mind as i think it's a bit much with the silver.

Well worth considering in the future.

It took a few minutes longer to do than I thought as they had to send my ECU program to superchips by modem but the modified ECU program came back very quickly.

The whole process actually takes minutes as they only have to plug a laptop into your cars ECU (not soldering etc like 205's).

once i confirm how it affects my insurance i might just get it done - or on a brighter note, i even get my CC back tomorrow after 8 days - on an even brighter note an amazing miracle stopped me from smashing up the Rover 75 courtesy car at 5.20am this morning.

miracles do happen after all !!!

neil,

hard to explain without typing for ages, but i was driving to work along a road which is well known for fatal accidents and it doesn't get that name for nothing

driving along quite the thing around 50-60mph, i drove round a bend and i suddenly hit what must have been a deep puddle along the verge of the road. it had been raining heavily overnight but the other roads didn't seem that bad. then the rover 75 even although it weighs a ton went flying accross the other side of the road. i managed to pull the car back over to avoid smashing into another car head on, then as the car was back to the left it was heading off the road, swerved back accross the other side, heading off again, back to the left heading off and i thought i had lost it then suddenly back to the middle of the road when it eventually stopped. the car amazingly didn't have a scratch. luckily it was 5.25am so thankfully there aren't many cars around at that time or i don't know what would have happened.

imagine phoning the dealer to say their £22,000 courtesy car was smashed up - eh no !!!

derek

p.s. thankfully i did have the rover 75 as my CC would have been in pieces, the weight of the rover is the only thing that saved it.

Once you've installed the chip it's pretty easy to connect it up and reprogramme it when you get other things fitted such as cams, ported heads, new exhaust...whatever, so there is nothing to say you can't get it chipped before you get a, b, or c done first.

does that cost tho, or is it just a simple thing after you've fitted somethin. if so i think ill go get it done, peanuts really aint it for the performance increase
