Original radio stayed on after I switched the ignition off

Post by Johnnyb60 »

Hi and hope your all well,
Today I've had a strange anomaly regarding the original standard radio fitted to my 2 ltr Peugeot 206 cc.
I started the car and drove off and then noticed the radio station on the centre display wasn't there.Everthing else was there on the display as in the "time, outside temp and mpg "but the radio station was nowhere to be seen.
The radio was still working at this time whilst driving, so i decided to turn it off but it was unresponsive except for the station preset buttons.
Getting more curious I pulled over and switched the car off,but the radio still kept on going minus the display (I couldn't switch the radio off)
After around 3 or 4 attempts of turning the ignition on and off the display returned and it now seems to be behaving itself
Any ideas what could be causing this odd glitch.
I'm now worried if it will magically turn itself on whilst I leave the car parked up

That sounds like a glitch in the electronic highway control. They usually go away, but obviously could recur. Nothing much you can do about it, unless you play parts roulette.

Thanks Ian for taking the time to reply.
Touch wood it hasn't happened again so fingers crossed😀
I've noticed the little pug seems to of had a few strange glitches over the time I've had it and they usually just go away.
I will just put down the it being a "French thing" 🤣
