Thinking about a possible simple modification

Post by Johnnyb60 »

Hi,
Its probably a noted gripe most 206 cc owner's complain about unless you live in a desert, in that the car has no rain gutters ,resulting in water either dropping on your head when getting out or splashing over the seats when getting in when opening the door with a wet roof.
I was thinking about this just the other day and was thinking of a solution.
In the garage I've got a roll of bling self adhesive 3 mm wide chrome trim.
I was thinking of running two strips of this very narrow self adhesive trim along the entire length of the roof each side about 4" in from the windows.
The idea is that any water run off will be diverted , off to the front or rear of the roof as it hits the trim and not on my head or seats whenever the door is opened.
I'm still thinking about it at the moment but the trim I've got is very narrow and very shallow depth wise, so it should look like a nice and subtle mod without ruining its slick looks.
Most cars nowadays usually have two black plastic recessed strips running from front to rear along the roof just for this purpose so why didn't Peugeot adopt this on the 206 cc.
It could also help in diverting water away from the tops of the door seals from which I gather are a known cause of water leaks.
You can find this cheap trim virtually anywhere online or car accessory shops if you think it's a good idea.
I'm new to 206 cc ownership so oppogize if it's already been suggested before.
All the best,
Johnnyb60

Thanks for replying Claudia.
Just the other day, I too noticed a 206 cc in the scrap yard with two strips fitted.
These were not just stuck on pieces either, but where factory fitted. The car was newer than mine so I can only assume they where an additional update to the later cars.
Kind Regards,
Johnny 😀
