Deformed plastic trim driver's side after roof jammed

Last summer we had a problem when the roof failed to close. Turned out it was jamming on the plastic trim on the driver's side. We eventually coaxed it closed but the trim is deformed. It doesn't look too bad.


Today I removed the trim completely as I wanted to lower the roof to replace the rear speakers (another story!). The roof mechanism seems to work fine without it (well, one of the rear quarterlights needs manual help to raise but again, another story).
Question is, what are my chances of straightening this out, say with a heat gun? Or is it hopeless?
The other question is why it jammed. Not sure if this is anything I can adjust?

If you do use a heat gun, take it very slowly. Overstep the mark and it could be ruined.

For the rear windows, you may need new lifting cables. There are kits available on EBay.

Thanks Ian. I found the part on eBay so have ordered. I also lubricated the rubber seals in various places and that seems to have helped with the rear window though it remains unenthusiastic!
