When I flick the dip switch, there is a noticeable delay before the beam actually dips. At times, I think that I might not have flicked the stalk far enough, so I give it another go, only to see the beam dip and then go back to main beam. I've always thought that it must be crazy french electrical design, but now I'm thinking that it might be a fault just on my car.
Has anybody else experienced this?

Could be a communication gremlin between the COM2000 and the BSI. Try cleaning the plugs and sockets with non-lubricating contact cleaning spray.

Gremlins again! I'm assuming that the relays are solid state and not on their way out. I'll wait for drier weather to probe further; in the mean time, stick to lit roads at night.

The relays in the BSI are controlled by a processor which receives control signals from the Com2000. My guess is that the control signal is being intermittently lost, probably due to a high resistance in the connection, but it could be the switchery in the Com2000. If you don't have any luck with the plugs and sockets, I would try a different Com2000.
