anyone elses exhaust springs squeak?

This driving me nuts aha did post while back about this but i didnt no were the noise was coming from so when i found out its my springs on exhaust it is defiantly that i move exhaust by hand and same noise, anyway i changed my gasket twice just incase i bought wrong one but i didnt, changed both springs nuts and bolts and washers if i do it too tight noise not as bad but i get knocking when im driving i think because downpipe and cat so close together but if i losen it abit noise is louder, it is definatly worse when car is cold and i think first thing i tried was using wire brush get crap off? And ideas or anyone alse have this problem all my rubber mounta have been changed too thanks its a peugeot 206cc 1.6 2002

I suffered this for quite a long time after the fitting of a new exhaust system. The noise was very loud on the overrun, but disappeared after the engine warmed up. I noticed the absence of noise when it rained! This, I concluded, was due to water lubrication of the flexible joint gasket. The garage that fitted the system was very dubious of my diagnosis, but having renewed all the engine mounts and exhaust hangers to no avail, they agreed to fit another new gasket. Result! Examination of the old gasket revealed that it was about 3mm thicker than it should have been; i.e. the wrong part had been fitted.
I strongly suspect that your problem is the same.

Wow thank you so much it has been driving me crazy for months i had gotten 3 gaskets off ebay just to make sure all were correct size and they were so i ruled that out till i saw your answer and i decided to buy 2 more gaskets again to make sure size is okay and i recived one slighly bigger then the rest and its perfect been on for a week and nothing thank you it was so embarrassing
