Re: Cd wiring
Much easier to leave the cables intact and use an adapter .. take it you didn't get one with the head unit? Our Sony was plug and play .. and just needed yellow and red power feeds swapped .. which again was simple with the adapter.

Agree standard ISO wiring harnesses should be available readily off the shelf. 206 being a popular / common car Halfords probably stock them already. If not eBay is full of them.
Certainly don't go hacking at the car's wiring. You'll only cause yourself issues and there isn't much room in there to be trying to solder over a dozen wires.
You'll see from the attachment I had to make a wiring harness for the wife's CC recently. She had bought a chinese double din android stereo - on my advice - and it came with just a plug and tails rather than a proper made up harness.
I also had the connects2 steering control harness, required to maintain the steering wheel control functionality. This is designed to go between the car's original plugs and then a further ISO wiring harness.
I cut the male - stereo side - off the connects2 harness and soldered the tails of the stereo's plug to the harness to make one. No chopping of car's loom involved.
Personal rule anything I do I want to make sure where possible it is able to be returned to stock without a trace. Only thing with fitting double din is you have to cut out the mount of the Multi Function Display, but I've kept it and will glue it back in if need be.
In summary - for an off the shelf unit, just buy the required wiring harness, should be less than £10.
