Tickover a bit lumpy

Post by ribs99 »

On my wifes 206 the tick over is a bit lumpy which means you have to give it a few little extra revs to avoid it stalling. I have just given it a service (plugs, filters, oil) but it's no different.

Planet doesn't report any problems and other than at tickover the engine sounds and performs great.

Any ideas? Maybe it's just old age, it has nearly 90k on the clock!

Planet won't tell you if you have a slight mechanical fault such as a low compression.
Maybe start with comp test. and test for inlet air leaks.
Cheers Col.

Sorry should have mentioned I already did a compression test, all cylinders measured roughly the same. Haven't checked for air leaks though so will give that a try.
