Nothing is more alarming than things suddenly going awry whilst doing 70 in the fast lane of a motorway.
First a bleep and the red battery light came on. Next more lights confusingly come on all over the dash and the radio goes off. Then the car changes down a gear and all the time trying to get over to the nearside lane in heavy traffic. Just made it to the service lane when everything just died and coasted to a halt. Waited an hour for recovery. When warning lights come on in heavy traffic - prepare immediately for the worse or you could easily find yourself stationery in the fast lane!
So what is now wrong? Unfortunately, ten year old 206ccs seem to be getting near the point of not being economical to keep repairing as I've experienced a series of problems expensive to rectify - solenoids, air bag light permanently on, and alternator replacement two years ago. At 69000 miles does it make more sense to invest £2000 to buy another with low mileage?

Have you lost or broken the accessory belt?
Cheers Col.
