I have a problem with "anti-pollution fault". This started when I took the car out for a run to top up the battery. I went for about 6 miles, along the way I gave it more throttle (just over 3k; it's a diesel)
than I normally do. I had waited in a queue near the top of an hill, I set off and was turning off the main road, when I became aware that there was no power, the engine then cut out. After a few attempts I was
able to start the engine and was able to read the error on the screen "anti-pollution fault". I turned the car around and attempted to return home; the engine died 2 to 3 minutes later, having got less than 0.25
of a mile. Having started engine again, it stopped after an even shorter time. After several more attempts to get home, I called the AA.
They got the error codes:
P0190 - Fuel pressure regulation no signal.
P1112 - Fuel high pressure sensor faulty.
They suspect "fuel pressure sensor fault".
I was towed back home with the engine still running to keep the power steering from going stiff; the engine remained running all the time.
I was able a few days later to start and drive the car to a repair garage, which quoted £80+ just for a sensor. My mechanic son said, check the wiring and connections first. I have bought a can of electrical contact cleaner, to clean the connectors to the sensors.
So what do you advise?
Thanks for any replies.

Re: anti-polution fault
This is the 206cc Coupe-Convertible forum so none of our cars have your engine.
