Tensioner Pulley - Bolt Torque values

Post by finn67 »

Morning CCers

Would anyone have the Torque value for the two bolts holding the tensioner pulley on the block?

It's the 1.6, year 54, with AC and PS (6 pulley route) I have tried in vain this morning and can find anything BUT that, the service box had all the info with the exception of those values (or maybe I didn't know where to look as Peugeot is new to me)

I need to get off and collect the part from Euro Warrington and get on with it so any help will be greatly appreciated AGAIN!

Thank You and thanks for your input so far, the replies to my other Q's have been first class....

If it's not in Haynes manual, then use this guide

Cheers Col.

Thanks for that Col.... It appears a very guarded secret but if I'm right it's 57nm, I'll see if I can get a feel on release, can usually gage to a point although not bolts that have been in forever... I wouldn't bet the car on my getting that right so I don't know for certain, that table put me in the ball park so I was thinking of tensioning to 40/45Nm until I can procure the actual values...Wish I could have got onto Peugeot forum this morning though....

Thanks for taking the time Col... I'll crack on, I've wasted far too much time with my stupid persistence, not been for the part yet!!!

That's far to high. It's the thread size not the hex size you should be looking at, I think they are M8 so go for 15-20NM

Col you're right again buddy, just by chance whilst waiting for the part, I was talking to a bloke in there and he said he had done the same job on his daughters car last year or so and was almost sure it was 20Nm - but no more than 25 - at last a lucky break then lol

Said that to quick, it's just starting to rain here in Manchester.... No shock there then...

OK pal thanks again, I'll be gone by the time you read this, need to get going and get this on!

Cheers All and thanks to everyone for your help...
