Folks don't ignore those warning lights!!!
Took this off a VW this morning. Owner had been driving with the low brake pad warning on for over a month

They were lucky the little wires were still connected to the pads!

They weren't on that side! They had been cut through by the disc, but other side was not quite metal-to-metal so was still putting light on.
