Warning lights on Peugeot 206 cc

Post by lobinha »

Hi, I've noticed today 3 warning lights on my dashboard when I turned the engine on. These were:
Engine autodiagnostics warning light
engine oil pressure and temperature warning light
Also stop light.

What do I have to do? Or do I have to call a mechanic as my car skills are basically null?

Sorry silly questions maybe, but new driver and first ever car owned.

How old is the battery on the car? Spurious warning lights can be a sign that the battery is on its last legs. Be careful if you do put a new battery on it. Get one of the correct specification and height. A battery for a hatchback 206 is shorter than the one for the CC.

What petrol are you using in it? Don't use cheap stuff. Stick to Shell V-Power Nitro+ or BP Ultimate.

You mentioned in an earlier post that you engine was probably misfiring. That would cause the engine warning light to come on. Has the misfire been cured?

Have you checked your engine oil level? When was the oil and filter last renewed? Was a genuine Peugeot filter used?
