Coolant reservoir on the 206 CC 2 litre

Post by JayEm1485 »

Hi

I am having real problems checking the coolant level in my reservoir. The reservoir itself is white and very thick and I cannot see. I have checked the forum and I see that other people have experienced problems. It has been suggested to shine a torch into the reservoir itself. I have removed the cap, and tried this, but I still cannot see. Does anyone have any other suggestions please?

I have spent the morning sucking on a long straw to get out the excess water which I had poured in before I realised that I could not see the level. The reservoir was full to the brim!

That's how I always top ours up - to the brim. But I don't use water, I use ready mixed screen wash which is blue and shows up in the reservoir spout.

No, I fill the screen washer reservoir almost to the top, but not the coolant reservoir. That's the trouble. Knowing where to stop, and imagining the dire consequences of over filling!

No real issue with too much coolant as it will get pushed out by the pressure.
