ENGINE JITTER SHAKE!!
Hi guys well yet another issue with this flaming car, its started to have a slight judder or shake when idling, is not bad or really noticeable, but i can feel it in my seat and the steering wheel, it sort of idles normal but has this little glitch every 10 seconds but on the open road it drives really well, i have noticed that when idling and i put interior light on its flickering with the judder, slightly worried as i dont want to spend any more stupid money on it as i want to sell it soon, its had plenty of repairs but the engine has never been a problem... Until now, and advice or info that could help me sort it would be much appreciated. Thanx jay. car is November 2001 206cc 1.6s petrol 91000mls on clock if that helps.

Re: ENGINE JITTER SHAKE!!
Any warning lights? Has the cambelt been changed? When was it last serviced?
Cheers Col.

Hi cap, no warning lights, no smoke, no water or oil mixing or burning, all fluids good, but last full service and cambelt change was about 2 years ago, roughly 17000 miles added since then, when i bought the car it had an issue with petrol from certain stations, but it went away after i changed to a supermarket one.

If it is 2 years since the last service then it is due for another. Oil, filters, possibly due new Bosch (or Peugeot) spark plugs. Don't forget hydraulic fluid change every 2 years too.
Ours juddered a bit a low speeds when the spark plugs needed changing.

Re: ENGINE JITTER SHAKE!!
With no warning lights it's all just a guess really, but could be caused (but not limited to, or in any particular order)
Plugs
Coil pack
Dirty injector (try injector cleaner)
Poor quality fuel
Dirty throttle body
Worn engine mount(s)
EGR sticky
Air leak (check all inlet pipes- listen for hissing noise)
After that you are looking at sensors giving wrong readings such as coolant temp, IAT, MAP. etc but you would ideally need a scanner with live data for this.

Re: ENGINE JITTER SHAKE!!
Thanks guys i will have a look at these possibles, and may just send it for a full service. Cap my coolant temp gauge always stays under 70, it only rises when car is stationary for a bit and goes over 70, then the fan kicks in, always been this way, but my oil temp rises all the way until under or on the 140 mark when fully warmed, i dont know if thats right, or dodgy sensors, but this is how its always been. Will have a look at things over the weekend, as i think my passenger side driveshaft is playing up, turning right and its clicking, another repair to the never-ending list.

Re: ENGINE JITTER SHAKE!!
If you are sending it for a service, tell then about the issues (or better still-demonstrate it) They can then actively diagnose it.
