Roof not opening

Post by magichands »

Hi, I hadn't opened the roof for just over a year and now it's not opening.

I'm not getting any 'bong' noises when I unlclip the two latches but I do get a continuous half a dozen quiet beeps when pressing the roof up/down switch.

The boot cover is clipped in, parcel shelf clear, I've tried with the windows down and up, I've checked fuse 4 which is the only fuse I could identify which has anything to do with roof.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks.

Try the microswitches at the top of the screen. They may have got stuck after so long.
Cheers Col.

Hi Col, sorry to hound you in so many posts!

As I'm a complete novice, could you clarify what 'stuck' means which the microswitches at the top of the screen? I'm going to try cleaning mine... Just not really sure how to?!

Thanks SO much for any help or suggestions!
Lizzy

Lizzy the microswitches look something like this (these aren't peugeot ones, just a generic picture)
The blade operates a little button switch that you should feel a noticable *click* when you operate it, Some times a squirt of penertrating fluid will unstick them. Give them a liberal spray and operate them a few times to see if they start clicking.
