My Wife has a 52 plate 206cc and the electric roof has always worked fine. Tonight however it did not. We went out and the roof was fine and we got to where we going and the roof closed as normal. Ten minutes later on our return the roof would not go down. No noises or anything. We tried numerous things and still nothing. When I put the shelf back in the boot so normally in that position it would not go down, there were bleeping noises when I pressed the switch telling me that I had this retracted. So I went back into the boot and pulled the blind in the right position for the roof to go down and the bleeping obviously was not there and still the roof failed to retract. So the sensor for the boot shelf is working.
The latch on the drivers side was very stiff and hard to push back in but cannot see it being that. There are no bleeping noises when I try and retract the roof when there would be if say the boot was not closed properly etc. Does anyone have any sensible ideas please ? Obviously don't want to take it to a dealer unless I have too as I think it must be something silly for it to just stop. All the windows go down as usual and even when the two latches are pulled out the windows still go up and down which I thought they could not do with those latches pulled out ready for the roof to go down ?
Cheers have found it. When I go to open the roof and pull both the catches down I am sure there should then be a beep noise ? My Wife says not but I am sure there is that beep then you can activate the roof to open.
Where are you it will probably need a diagnostic check and peugeot will charge £80 per hour plus vat for this but there are plenty of us that have got our own diagnostic machine that can do the same for peanuts, depends if you are near anyone who has one though
