Roof not working

Post by Craws »

Hi,

The roof on my Peugeot 206cc isn't operating, when the roof rack is retracted and you try and operate the roof it makes the sound to indicate it this. When you put the roof rack in place and then try and operate the roof there is no sound to indicate the roof is ready when the latches are pulled to the open position and nothing happens when you try and operate the roof switch.
I would like to know what's wrong with it so I can take it to a garage before resorting to sending it to Peugeot.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Probably one of the windscreen post top microswitches.

Thanks for the advice!
Are these easy enough to diagnose?
Problem is im finding it very hard to find a garage who will even look at the roof, hence why im dreading taking it to Peugeot, they'll charge me a fortune.

Have a search for micro switches as this comes up often.
You will find diagrams of where they are and a video of the roofs working components and how it all operates, along with other peoples experiances of fixing roof problems.
The switches sometimes become sticky and just need a clean/ lube. Sometimes faulty and need replacing.
The screen top switches confirm the roof is unlatched, so if you are not getting a confirmation *bong* when unlatching, I would start with them
Cheers Col.
