Hey there another random question...my oil needs topping up what is best to use? i thought 10W40 semi synthetic but i dont know an online table stated differently plus i dont know what is already in there etc etc advice would be great thankyou :)

5W40 I think. That's what I use in our 2.0 version. Have you got a handbook? If not there is a pdf scanned version on this forum.

Otherwise try a search on here ...

Or check with opie oils.

If you don't know what is in there now I'd do a full change plus new filter. Who knows how long that has been in there.

The oil specification is in the owners service booklet. For the petrol 1.6 206cc it is Total Quartz 9000 5w40 Fully Synthetic oil.

The service manual recommends an oil change every two years or 20,000 miles but in my opinion that is too long. Personally I recommend an oil and filter change every year or 10,000 miles whichever comes soonest. Always use a genuine Peugeot oil filter too as some aftermarket ones have been known to collapse and cause low oil pressure problems. When changing the oil use a suitable socket to fit the hexagon on the filter cover. Torque wrench settings are 22 lbf ft for the sump drain plug and 18 lbf ft for the oil filter cover. Fit a new O-ring seal to the filter cover and apply a little clean oil to it.
