Owned a 206 diesel 1868 cc since new in October 2000 (X plate). Only done 70, 000 miles. Always been reliable, economical and a delight to drive. Sadly failed the MOT today (near side front coil spring, and offside front suspension has excessive play in a lower suspension ball joint). Sad because I recently fitted two new front tyres! My dialemma is whether it is worth getting the work done for a re-test.
I am not very technically minded and wonder if anyone has any idea of the likely cost of these repairs at a garage?
Car has been driven mostly on the quite rough roads where I live in East Sussex. Perhaps this is why suspension is giving up after 14 years!
Car is in pretty good condition apart from the MOT failure points and there is no rust but I doubt it is worth much for sale, even if I got repairs done, simply because of age.
Is it of value to other 206 owners in the club?
