I have had my 'Foxy' a red 2004 2.0 Allure for a fortnight, absolutely love her and a fun, dream of a car to drive.
So far I have changed battery in key fob and still cannot lock from fob, ordered a replacement from eBay and waiting it to come and paid for a spare from Timpsons at £70. Hoping this sorts it.
Had a breakdown Thursday, which panicked me but turned out previous owner had a bodged job on his battery. Fitted a too small one which they'd cut down the box for and badly connected. Anyway new correct battery fitted, new lead fitted and back awesome!

Re: Hello
Welcome to the forum.
Have you tried reprogramming your key? If you did take too long in renewing the batteries and your keys thus needed to be reprogrammed it is all explained how to do this on page 69 of the owners manual:
- Switch off the ignition
- Switch the ignition on again
- Press button A (the larger button)
- Switch off the ignition and remove the remote control key from the ignition lock. The remote control will now be working again.
The battery problem you experienced is fairly common - caused by cheapskates.
