Hydraulic control master cylinder

Post by shep1001 »

Anybody know how easy (to change myself) or how much a garage would want to change the hydraulic control master cylinder on a 1.6 petrol car? Lisa's pug has a bit of a leak and having cleaned round it this is where it appears to be weeping a little fluid from

Hi Capncol its on the clutch, black plastic thing bolted to the gearbox where the clutch cable goes in.

If it is on the gearbox it won't have a cable ... Did you mean the feed pipe/hose?

That's the slave cylinder so is easier and cheaper to fit. Longest job will be bleeding the system to remove air.

Any chance you can post up a picture of the part?

Hi all. Having had a closer look at it today before it hammered down, I was wrong! the leak is coming from the power steering hose/switch, confirmed by the lack of fluid in the PS reservoir. You can't buy the switch separately so you have to purchase the hose too according to one garage I asked. Strangely Peugeot tell me different...
