'ham radio airial
I might not get an answer but I thought it was worth asking! how do I fit a 'ham radio antenna to the boot of my new CC? when I had a MGTF I put it on the boot lip mount but now the boot goes in each direction I'm at a loss how to fit one! I want to be able to use 2m and 70cms (I know that means very little to most of you). but I'm hoping that someone has had the same or similar problem and has the answer!!!

I see 2 issue. Clearance and adequate Ground Plane....
You could use a clamp mount on the tie rails on the side of the boot lid, or a mag or solid mount in the centre of the lid at the rear, but all those options mean 0 ground plane on many sides of the antenna.
There is also the added issue of the antenna 'swinging down' during roof operations.
Personally I would look at a mag mount as close to the centre of the boot lid as is allowed when the boot is open (for loading)

As long as water isn't falling out of the sky, the roof can be down.

hi all I have now settled for a small mag mount antenna on the roof which I can swop to the boot if the roof is down!
