Newbie...

Post by sardan1974 »

Hi,

Having just turned 40, felt the need for a "fun" car, and have just spent my first week with my beautiful little Peugeot 206 Allure 2.0L in Black!! :)

04 plate
55k miles
Driving to work mainly on motorway and getting 40.5mph - much better than expected
Only problem found so far is the back window stick when putting back up after having the roof down, a little pull on the window and it corrects itself.

Absolutely adore this car so far, reading through the forums, there seems to be a number of problems, and fingers crossed, I'll be one of the lucky ones.

There are a lot of them out there, and the mechanisms are very complex.
My ex's has never given her any trouble since she got it - I'm sure we never hear from most.
Keep them exercised and lubricated and they're probably fine for many years, but everything has a finite lifespan and this is the place people will find first when problems arise.
I'd advise getting some graphite spray (it doesn't dry out like WD40) then popping the interior rear trim off and lubricating the window mechanism and cables.
Other than that, just keep it all regularly exercised - shouldn't be too much of a hardship as Summer approaches! 8)
