Hi, I have bought a cc today it is a 2002 2.0SE, in silver. I did not want it but the wife kind of fell for it, so I HAD to buy it... I have already looked through this forum a little bit and the 206cc does seem to be a typical french car really!!. I bought it after it has had a front shunt (Im a motor trader so I know about the DVLA issues) and the only problems I have apart from the front damage is the pollution fault light is on, the car has not moved in 6 months + so im hoping it will clear with a bit of use as the engine runs fine with no miss fire and starts very easily. Hopefully I will get a few years use out of this car.

being a trader can you get access to a OBD Reader and if so whats the fault code, I reckon most likely to be down to the main coil pack, I have just replaced mine for the same fault and after pulling my hair out I would suggest this is the first place to start, you can get a new one from ebay for 34 pounds and take 5 mins to changes, will also save you a fortune on fuel, the coil pack seems to be a weak area on Peugeots, mine showed all kinds of faults and I changed lamda sensors, cat etc etc and I had code P0341 which is cam position sensor and that car does nor even have one fitted! Blast it down the motor way and start four times to see if goes out if not suggest new coil pack Take x 4 cycles to reset ECU and for light to go out after changing so start x 4 times(Off and on)

Thanks for the advice i found the fault was a very bad electrical repair. The cable feeding the plug on the end of the coil pack was damaged and taped together! I cleaned up the cable and re soldered it and placed a bit of heat shrink over it and after resetting the ECU touch wood it seems to be ok.
