My name is James, I'm 27, from Margate and I'm just about to take ownership of a 206cc 1.6 in Orange. Buying from a family friend who's owned the car from new, full main dealership service history and 27,000 miles on the clock. Few little issues like dented front wing, lacquer flake on boot and a dodgy driver side rear quarter window that goes down but needs help going up. The car has been garaged for about a year and barely used since they bought a new car.
So far I've made a list of things to do and already started ordering parts:
Sort dodgy quarter window
Sort passenger seat which doesn't stay upright properly
Sort dented front wing and respiratory boot
Replace black trim on rear bumper as scuffed badly
Already ordered all parts, filters, fluids etc. to give car a full service myself. No need to take to a garage.
New battery, brake discs and pads all bought ready for fitting.
When I took it for a test drive I tested the radio and couldn't live with the poor quality, so I ordered a new Pioneer head unit and Pioneer 3 way speakers front and back, this should improve things no end.
Sourced a luggage rack on eBay in preparation for my intended drive down to Austria this summer to see the High Alpine Road.
Going to check tyres and if they need replacing will sort that. The car is on steels so I am also looking for some 15" alloys as well. Will stick with Peugeot alloys as opposed to aftermarket.
Other than that it will be going to my friend's garage (ex Peugeot) for a checkup, just to give it a once over. Need to check if it's had a cam belt change etc. but, for the price I've paid I can live with that.
Just sold my 2011 Ford Fiesta 1.6 TDCI Titanium for something cheaper. Reason being that my Mrs is learning to drive and there's no way she was driving a car that new or expensive
Already read lots of really useful tips on here and looking forward to being part of the community.
James
