2003 206 SW full beam (high) beam problem

Dipped beam working fine. Flash full beam works fine. If I flick lever to put on the full beam it only works for about 3 seconds and then reverts to dipped beam. Blue full beam light on dash then also goes out. Only just bought this car. I presume this is some electrical fault but then again, am I doing something wrong?

Sounds as if the previous owner offloaded it because of a COMM2000 fault.

Well I have it 3 weeks but problem just this past few days...my problem then it seems. As I got it fairly cheap I must not grumble too much but looks like an expensive trip to a dealership. Still, thanks for the quick response and informative answer ! :-) Other than this fault I am very happy with the car.
