Roof Alarm goes off at 5mph

Post by bluejen512 »

Hi Everyone, Im new here :) i bought a lovely 206cc just before xmas and i love the car
The only problem i have is the roof alarm goes off at 5mph when up and stays on all the time. When the roof is down and driving it doesnt come on.
Anyone else had this problem and know anyway to solve it without costing a fortune!
Also when the alarm is goin off the heated windscreen doesnt work but works fine when alarm not on!

Any help would be much appreciated!
I have no idea where to start!

Thanks
Jenny

The beeping is almost certainly a microswitch problem. You need to check out the location of the microswitches (there's a diagram on here somewhere as a sticky post near the top of the roof section).
It sounds to me as though the microswitch that tells the ECU that the roof has completed its closing cycle isn't being triggered. You should get a "bong" when you raise the roof to tell you it's finished - is it doing this? It could just be a bit sticky and need some exercise to get it clicking again.
