RE: Wind Deflector

Post by kenzo »

Hi folks,
my missus is thinking about getting a wind deflector for the 206cc (not right away, more likely when /if we get a decent Spring next year.
Does the deflector actually work as well as some sellers claim? I'm about 6' 2" tall, so when we tried the roof down a fortnight ago, my head was freezing after 10 minutes but that's because my head is higher than the top of the windscreen.
Does the deflector just stop the backswirl, or does it help with the airflow over the car? (or both?).
Your advice and experiences will be much appreciated.
Thanks
Ken

Probably more to reduce backswirl in the open car. It's unlikely to reduce the flow over the screen.

I agree with gazza82. My wife won't go out in the 206cc with the top down unless the wind deflector is up. It makes a real difference for folk with long hair. The only time she will is if we've got our grandchildren in the back - the deflector has to come out then. Pat then ties her hair back but the grand-daughters love letting their hair down when we're moving!

Thanks Gaz and GM. As I can count the remaining hairs on my head on one hand, it isn't going to benefit me very much but the mrs said that a deflector sounds good for her. I'll start looking for one later.
Thanks !
