Haynes Manual for 1.6 HDI

Hi all,

Kids have finally got the hint and left home so wife has decided to buy the car she always wanted. Picked it up yesterday 206cc Alure 1.6HDI.

I'm impressed with her choice it seems a very nice car and having owned the 406 coupe and the 406 diesel estate I know the pug is a good motor.

I do all my own work so first thing was to go on fleabay and source a manual however, and herein lies the problem, I can't find one for this model.....

Any suggestion please??

I have tried to find the answer through your previous posts but without success so if the subject has been discussed previously I apologise in advance.

Welcome to the forum Mike.

I had a similar dilemma. I bought Haynes manual 4613, but it does not cover the 1.6 HDi or the 1.6 16v petrol engine. So I make do with what it does cover. My wife owns a 1.6 16v petrol.

If you get stuck with anything maintenance wise just ask on here and we'll try to help - but do bear in mind that most of us have the petrol engined cars.

Many thanks for the quick reply, I will get the Haynes manual you suggested ta! Im guessing the 1.6 oil burner is fitted in other pugs so may (if and when the time comes) just buy any Haynes manual that covers it.

I noticed most on here are petrol.... I'm an avid diesel fan!! I hate paying the ridiculous amount of tax we pay for fuel so try to eek as much out of an engine as I can. With the performance of most modern diesels there's not much to complain about.

Having said that I had forgotten just how noisy little diesels were

One of my daughters has just bought a 2008 Peugeot 207 1.4 vti. I have just bought Haynes Manual 4787 and find that besides covering the 1397cc EP3 engine it also covers the TU5JP4 1587cc 16v petrol engine and the DV6ATED4 and DV6TED4 1560cc Hdi engines (with and without particulate filter). I believe these are the engine codes used in the 206cc as well.

Unless anyone else knows different.

That's a great reference thanks, I will bear that in mind when I need to service the engine
