Re: Flat battery
Sounds like it. Have you got a proper battery charger? It might need a long charge overnight as it's been standing. And if the journeys so far are short, it won't get a chance to charge fully. Otherwise you need to go for a long drive to see if you can get some volts into it. Even then if it is dying, the volts won't last long and if will struggle to start.
If you do decide to replace it, it's the taller battery (195mm?). The smaller one will not fit in the battery box without mods and the terminals get pushed off. The roof takes some power, so don't scrimp and just get the cheapest you can find ...
I found carpart4less were good on price and delivery free.
Check out this forum for the proper way to change the battery ... reconnecting isn't as straight-forward as you may think!

Re: Flat battery
If your car is a 1.6 petrol then when I replaced ours I bought an Exide EA530 which was perfect and cost £59.99 by shopping around. The original was 8 years old.

The correct battery is 190mm tall.
When you get the old battery out you should find a date on it so you'll see how old it is. Sounds as if your salesman didn't want the expense of replacing it before he sold the car! What a nice man!!!

Re: Flat battery
I'd also check that the alternator is charging properly. A multi-meter across the battery terminals will show the output, etc.
BTW Jump starting is NOT a good idea .. in new cars the electronics are sensitive and it's easy to blow the ECUs. It's best to disconnect the donor battery and jump it rather than from a running second car.
And if you can trickle charge it, disconnect the battery as well.
