gearbox urgent
Hi there it's have a 2004 Peugeot 206 sxi 1.6 manual with hydraulic gearbox. And basically its gone bang. The code on it is 20cp92 .cant find one on ebay or anywhere. Can anyone help me please. I need to get back on the road. Thanks in advance

Is that the tiptronic gearbox ... you will probably find it's a manual gearbox with the hydraulic selectors on top rather than a gearstick/clutch pedal. It might be possible to just swap the gearbox out and swap over the hydraulics as you can with other cars (eg Alfa Selespeed) ... but that's not something I've any experience of. You might find getting a complete tiptronic is hard unless you track one to a scrap yard.
Have you tried 247spares? They contact you if their breakers have one ...
Also give pug206cc-spares a call (they are on ebay) and see if they can advise ...

Useful to remember a lot of Peugeot and Citroen parts interchange. BTW The 1.4 hdi is also used in Fords! But I digress!
My only worry would be if the later models had a different control box or were compatible with the 2004 version.
If the tiptronic is like the Alfa 156/147 Selespeed, the gearbox may be a separate unit. If the gearbox is wrecked but the tiptronic is OK it might be easier to find a 1.6 manual gearbox and swap the bits over. The only difference on the Alfa box is gear ratio 1 is slightly different to make it easier to pull away.
