Electrical 206CC problems

Key fob wouldnt open car.Had to open door manually using key.
Alarm sounded.Now car wont turn over.
Lights on dash were all lighting up.
Noise when key in ignition and button is pressed.
Ive put in new battery in key
When key in ignition is turned to position 1 there is a constant clicking sound from engine area and all the warning lights are on.
Any help please

What is the voltage across the car battery? This could have just been a flat battery.

Thanks Capncol -it was the battery-charged it for 1 hour-halfords did free check and say the crank is 450 but should be 550.they suggested a new battery

SORTED OUT PROBLEM WITH BATTERY YESTERDAY.ALL PERFECT THEN!
GEAR PROBLEM.WHEN TRYING TO GO INTO 1ST O 2ND GEAR WAS DIFFICULT.WHEN MOVING ALL GEARS OK BUT GEARSTICK VEY WOBBLY WHEN IN ANY GEAR BUT DRIVES FINE ANY IDEAS PLEASE?

Check out the gear linkages on top of the gearbox and also at the bottom end of the gear stick. You may need to remove the battery and battery box for better access. Make sure the bushes are all intact and the pins that hold the links together are not coming out (we lost 1st, 3rd and 5th when a small pin came out & that side of the linkages came loose).

Thanks Gazza.It was one of the linkage rods.There are 3.One large and 2 small ones.One of the small ones had got loose and the rubber was totally worn.Mr clutch found problem for free and fitted (part ,£22 from peugeot dealer ) for £10
