Roof won't go down

Hi all, I have a Peugeot 206cc. When I unclip the roof I don't get the bong noise. I get a constant beeping noise and the roof won't go down, the ledge is situated in the right place When I put the clips back in place my windows go down fine. The beeping still continues, the beeping does not go until I've completely turned the engine off. Please can you give me some advice

How did this problem start? It sounds like something happened (or not!) first, and what you are describing is the result of that problem, rather than the symptoms of a problem. If you see what I mean?!
Did you have any roof issues, either opening or closing?
