Good morning,
firstly i am new to the forum i brought a 206cc allure 53 plate yesterday 12/05/2013.
I took it for a test drive etc all worked fine drove back 44 miles was fine.
The problem started when i drove my car again back fro her parents house.
I parked the car on the drive at my house got out the car pressed the key fob and nothing i thought weird so i tried it again and again i went back in the car put the key in the ignition turned it and to my surprise nothing absoultly nothing coming on at all no power.
So after a bit of faffing i decided to lift the bonnet (after it taking me ten mins to find the bonnect lifter thing)
I then proceeded to disconnect the battery the postive one and put this back on thinking might be loose?
nothing seemed to happen i then opened the drivers side door and thats when it happened a big beep and eveything turned back on.
To be honest when i was driving back from her parents house i did hear a beep in the car i wondered what it as thought was the radio i now realize iam in a spaceship.
Could somebody help me to fix this i am assuming this is not a quick fix though?
Thank you very much in advance if you can offer help for me and by the way i dont have much money left that was all my savings gone.

Re: Peugeot 206cc Allure
Have a look at the many posts on here regarding failing batteries. Is yours the original, in which case at nearly 10 years old & it's overdue a replacement?
If it isn't the original, is it the correct one for a 206cc as they're taller?

Re: Peugeot 206cc Allure
I bet the seller had it started and warmed up ready for you when you looked at it - that's the usual trick. Another thing that can happen is that new owners operate the roof to show it off (without the engine running) and flatten the battery that way.
I would recommend that you read the owner's handbook front to back before doing anything else. Many problems can be self-inflicted by new owners who have not bothered to do so.
Is it a 1.6 or 2.0 ? If a 1.6 I've just replaced my battery. Best deal I could find was here:
http://www.boschcarbatteries.co.uk/inde ... ery-1.html
Took a week to arrive.
Capncol is right - the 206cc is 190mm tall instead of the smaller hatchback one which is only 175mm. People have been known to use the incorrect one which can put a strain on the terminals and cause continuity problems.
Follow the instructions in the handbook.

Re: Peugeot 206cc Allure
Hello Both I will admit that this battery does not look like its tall i have no idea??
It defo is not an original and yes i have looked at other posts and one said tried a cable tie because mine is one of them quick release terminals.
Thank you so much you 2 for your help I cannot afford a new car now and i need this to get to work so if it goes i am stuffed.
It did happen again today when i got in work i did take the terminal off and back on again with the printed safety battery removal system on here working fine now but i had noticed that the metal clip thing the quick release was further up the battery nearly coming off!
It is a 1.6l allure lovely car drives brill apart from that.
Thank you again both of you for your continued help it is really really appreciated.
P.S the battery looks alot smaller than the one in the pic
Just brought a Excel battery for my car like the one you sent me in the link £55 it was from eurocarparts got 15% off with discount code BATTERY15 if anyone is interested.
Thank you for the link and all your help again i will fit the battery tomorrow and keep you all posted.
Thank you.

Re: Peugeot 206cc Allure
this looks loads taller the one in my Peugeot at the minute looks just like the one i had in my reanult clio S reg very small.
When i went on eurocarparts i typed in my reg and let the website find the battery for my car.
I am 100% positive this is just a standard battery the big give away is the price that is left on the battery 27.99.
i don't know why you would put a smaller battery in to be honest there is also a few other things i need to ask you guys need get this problem sorted first though.
thank you

Because it was cheap! Things should improve now with the correct battery, and your quick release connection should fit perfectly too now. (No need for a cable tie hopefully).cooljay4 wrote:I am 100% positive this is just a standard battery the big give away is the price that is left on the battery 27.99.

I hate it when people mess up cars by doing things on the cheap and by bodging repairs. And when folk don't RTFM.

Re: Peugeot 206cc Allure
Depends on the age of the car whether you will have auto lights / wipers. The manual tells you how to switch on/off these features.
