Boot lid and moving shelf
Hi everyone
Im having problems with my boot lid, its not closing when i put the roof down, if i put the roof up it closes and locks as normal but when i put the roof down the boot lid wont close just stays in the upright position, i have noticed that the moving shelf is not coming up it stays in the down position but should it come up after the boot lid has started closing or before because this seems to be the problem can any one out there please help.

Re: Boot lid and moving shelf
Is your roof stopping at all? Or is it moving freely into the boot?
The parcel shelf pops up as the bootlid starts closing.
Check the pins in the microswitches. They often stick as people don't use the roof often enough.
If you're lucky you can work the pin out and it will be fine. May need replacing eventually though.

Re: Boot lid and moving shelf
If you look at the micros, they have a small blue ring, and in the middle is the pin that goes in and out, making or breaking the circuit.
That little pin can stick sometimes.

Re: Boot lid and moving shelf
Hello, i have similar problem, checked microswitches but problem is with that lever which trips them. when roof goes down this lever is not going high enough to trip microswitches. when i force it up to trip them i can close lid and shelf normally with switch. But then when i want to rise roof up, it does nothing and beeps like there is some fault. so i have to close it manually. Can anyone help me with that? Thanks

Re: Boot lid and moving shelf
You can bend that tang to adjust it. Just be gentle.

Re: Boot lid and moving shelf
If you look at the video at 3.39, 3.53, 5.18, 5.26 & 6.38mins you will see micro switches that have an operating lever attatched to them. These are the levers I assumed you meant and they can be bent. (you didn't say which switch you meant so I had to guess)

Re: Boot lid and moving shelf
I get what you mean. Perhaps adding some padding the the rubber boot on the end of that leaver will allow it to push up far enough. But there must be a reason why its not moving its full travel.
Its the bottom of the rear window that pushes it up, so my first question is, is the roof folding all the way in to the boot? (assuming the leaver doesnt look damaged in any way)

As long as water isn't falling out of the sky, the roof can be down.
