Hi, Just failed the MOT (52 reg) due to airbag light on, has been on since we had it (3 years). However the fault is a permanent one "P10C1" RH side airbag fired. So will need to reset or replace ECU.
I am confused as on ebay there is a 'Side Airbag ECU' but in Haynes there is only one Airbag ECU but that could be because the normal 206 does not have the same type of airbags.
Any help and if there side ones any idea where they are ?
Thanks Jonrat

Re: Side Airbags ECU
There's only one ECU, but you use Peugeot Planet to configure it as to whether it has driver, passenger and/or side airbags.
My other half's car had a cloth interior which I changed for a grey leather one with side airbags.
I tried to get them working but couldn't, so I just didn't connect and disabled the side ones.
Not programmed in, not connected, so no airbag warning light.

Re: Side Airbags ECU
Just to close this down. There is only 1 Airbag ECU on a 02 206cc. If the bags have been deployed or fired then the chrash data needs to be removed from the Air Bag EUC.
Defects of the Airbag system only need to be cleared which is the cheap bit to do.
The ECU is just like any microchip land just needs re-formating, there has got to be a cheaper and easier way of doing this!!!!!!

I'm sure you can use Peugeot Planet to remove the crash data and reset the airbag ECU.
