Radio trouble

Post by Amy-Louize »

Hey guys!

Can anyone think of a reason why my radio won't store stations?

I set them all and it's all perfect until I switch off the ignition. It's not a big deal but it bugs me that everytime I get in the car Newstalk comes on, it's never good news so I have to get that off and get something decent on before I can even start driving! Sticking a CD in is a solution but still would like to fix it. Maybe a fuse?

Yep, thought maybe one of the wires was wrong way around or something?

That's usually the case with an aftermarket radio.
In your case, check the radio fuses.
Cheers Col.

Will do, I've got a law exam tomorrow so will look at it tomorrow afternoon, I have to pass 3 of 4 and the first two went well but today was a disaster so have to keep my head in the books for the last shot tomorrow. Will post after I check the fuses. Thanks

If you take the radio out there is a block connector on the back left (when looking from the front) - moving back you will find a bunch of wires, there will be two which are thicker and separate to the rest

The Yellow and Red wires in this picture with the plastic sleves.

Unplug each one from the plastic sleve and connect the red one to where the yellow one was and the same for the other (i.e. reversing the charge)

This is the original radio not aftermarket.
Unless someones been messing around with it, wiring should be correct

I know it's odd, mine was original also but had this same issue.
