Roof switch not working

Post by penny206 »

My 206cc roof has suddenly stopped working :( The internal switch does not work even with the engine running. The boot cover is in the correct position, the windows are down and the roof catches undone. Normally the switch makes a noise but nothing happens.
Can anyone please help I'm an OAP and it's all double dutch to me.
Thanks

Can you put the windows back up with the window switches? I'm just checking so you can at least leave the car safe.

I take it that you are not getting any of the normal "Bleeps"??

It could be a fuse or the roof switch may have broken ... ours snapped a couple of months back. We put a second hand one in and it took a few minutes.

Thanks Gazza for your reply - The windows work fully on the window switches so at least the car is safe.
The switch looks OK - any idea where I can find the fuse??
I really appreciate your help.

I should be behind the panel at the bottom of the dash under the steering wheel. I don't have a copy of the handbook available, but I think there is one on the forum ...

If you need a new switch, I got one via a guy on ebay who breaks 206s. I'd have to dig out his details but if you run a search for 206 CC spares on the ebay site, he should appear. He's relatively cheap and ships the parts quickly.

Thanks again for your help - will have a look tomorrow for the fuse also check out ebay. Sadly I was just about to sell the car, as I've become a sensible OAP and purchased a little 107, guess the 206cc got p*** off with me for deserting her.
