Name this part
Can anyone tell me what this pipe (ringed in red) is for? I has a small split in it which I've fixed for now but will need to get a new one.

Not 100% sure of it's official name, but it's a breather pipe I think. They get brittle with age. Ours snapped so I wedged the ends into a short pipe of heater pipe ... been fine like that!

Yep I did the same, I took the cap off a pen, cut the end off so I had a plastic tube and slid it inside both ends of the break, taped it up well so it's actually very strong. Didn't know if it would need to withstand a lot of pressure though.
