christmas present to my wife

Post by trikerjim »

Hi all, Merry Christmas to everyone around the world in 206cc land . I hope you all had a grand day. my wife certainly did, when i gave her a 2003 lime green 206cc with 70,000 miles on the clock in fantastic condition. it wouldnt fit under the tree though but that just made it more fun. it drives perfectly handles great and looks stunning in green with green and black interior. I only paid £1000 for it last month, right place, right time and spent the month polishing and cleaning. i have got history of cambelt and pully change at 63000 miles. we had the roof down a couple of times today but tonight went for a drive, after we sobered up and there seemed to be a low beeping noise, like a warning sound. the roof now will not work at all. i am gutted but hopefully will be an easy fix. i am fairly mechanically minded so will have a look round this forum and see if i can do it without having to resort to garage costs. anyway, enjoy the rest of the festivities and maybe we can meet up at a future meet.

Welcome to the forum Jim. Hope you've got her a good one. We never operate the roof on ours without the engine running. It eliminates one source of a potential problem - the battery getting discharged while the roof is partly through its operation.

Good luck with sorting yours.

We used to live in Bottesford although after several moves we're now in Leicestershire.

Hi all
Well the mrs loves her present apart from having to get used to the driving position compared to her tigra. Anyway, by way of an update, i now have the roof working again, in a fashion. I studied all the roof posts and decided to manually lower and raise it, as suggested. Lo and behold it now works. I still dont get a "bong" as i release the roof catches or as it reaches the end of its cycle and it doesnt automatically lower the windows but it folds in and out i just have to be sure to have the windows lowered before staring the procedure. Tomorrow i may try disconnecting the battery and yellow plug from roof ecu as someone else suggested. Hope that works, Night all

Hi, can anyone recommend something I can use to restore the colour to black leather seats? I have one patch that is now almost white from wear.

I would go for something like this although I've not actually tried it myself.
Alternatively, you could look for a local leather re-connolising company to do the job for you.
Cheers Col.
