Red light.. what is it? (2003 206 CC 1.6)

Post by Big Bad Boris »

Hi,

There is a red light between the big door locking and hazard warning light buttons on the dash, what is that for. Mine has been on constantly for a few days but the manual does not seem to indicate what this means.

Anyone able to assist?

You might want to download the handbook from http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/downloads/handbook.pdf

I think its operation is described on the second to last page in the above link (pity I didn't start at the back and work forwards!).

I looked at handbook and it doesnt describe the light staying on as the OP states, but does look like an larm related fault (or just peugeot wiring). It normally just flashes when alarm is activated, only time it stays on is when the button to disable the internal sensors is pressed but then flashes when locks applied.

Ours stays on if I lock the doors for personal security when driving through dodgy city areas.

I think the "anti-hijack" feature is enabled on my partner's car, where it automatically locks itself as soon as you are travelling at anything above walking pace. I think that would coincide with the light being illuminated - it would make sense, but no so easy to notice in sunlight during the Summer months.

Have you tried replacing the keyfob battery?

Refer to page 69 of your Owner's Manual.
