Hi all,my other halfs 206cc has developed a problem. Its losing power and stalling.
It's only been happening this morning and the weather is terrible. She took our son to school and it cut out twice.Apparently it feels like the brakes are on,but obviously, they're not.So there not a lot of power(its the 2litre).Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Re: wet weather
Is the MIL (engine warning) light on?
Is there anything in the MFD (centre binnicle) anti pollution etc:?
Is there a miss fire?
Any odd noises?
Cheers Col.

Re: wet weather
Could be coilpacks .... that was the symptom when ours went. Felt like it was running on two cylinders ... but sometime it would sort itself out and go again ... fun when you've got your foot down to try and keep it going!
But first check it's not just water in the plug wells ... if she has hit a deepish puddle or two it's amazing where the water cam end up! Even with the plastic engine cover in place!

Re: wet weather
I'd check the air filter to see if it is soaking wet.

Re: wet weather
If the coil pack was failing, you would get a missfire & probably associated warnings (anti pollution etc)
I think this one is going to be away from the norm.
If you are certain there isn't a missfire, unusual noise, or warnings, then I would start checking all the plugs and connectors to the engine sensors. Take the connector and plugs apart, and spray with duck oil to disperse water.
I would have a close look at the throttle body and MAP sensor. If either of these has got water in it would cause a lack of power. Also check the throttle pedal itself, as water may have found it's way in.
If you can borrow one, a good code reader would help with you diagnosis.
