Right, sorry if I've missed this in a previous thread. I recently bought a 2001 206cc 2.0 with the roof not working. It constantly beeps over 5mph. when I'm statiOnary with the handbrake on and try to put the roof down it just beeps when I press the roof switch. I've had the roof ecu read and it shows code 84022 "convertible top compartment open limit switch open circuit/earth short" so I've located all 11 microswitches and disconnected then and bridged them all, still nothing?? The roof doesn't even try to open, it just bleeps when I press the button. Am I missing something?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Roof won't open! Just bleeps?? Someone please help

Welcome to the forum Scotty.
To address your issues........
You can't test it by disconnecting or shorting the micro switches. They tell the ECU when the roof has reached a certain point so need to close at the correct time/ point. You need to test them with a meter to see they close when operated and open when released.

Hi
I had the same prob with my 206cc, in the end i took to the local pug dealers to have it checked out it cost me £67.50 which they had it for few hrs, but i found out the block of sensors in the boot where faulty.. so have these done at cost of £172.50 which i know is a lot, but a least its done and anything goes wrong i can take it back.... I was told that if yr car battery is a little naffed (with any cells in side naffed) the roof ecu box which does not get the right volts ( it does take a lot) so it thinks that the car is doing 7mph or more, which ecu box dont allow the roof to come down at all... My roof is fine and working great just a shame theres no bloody sun!!!!! Sue

Hi. Thanks for the response. So you recommend plugging them all back in and testing each one with a multi-meter?
Thanks scott

Test the at the plugs. They should be open circuit when at rest and short circuit when operated.Scottycc wrote:Hi. Thanks for the response. So you recommend plugging them all back in and testing each one with a multi-meter?
