ROOF! No bongs, no bleeps...nothing!! WHY?? :(

Post by Pamelaa »

I've had my 206 cc for around 6 months, when I bought it I got a lot of stick from people saying it was a 'hair dresser car' and 'more gadgets = more problems!' I wanted to prove them wrong! Everything was working beautifully.. but the other day when I was driving along my roof latch on the drivers side came undone by itself! I then noticed it seems looser than the other one and doesn't close as tight. I thought this was odd so today I tried to open the roof to check everything was working and nothing happened!
It's been 2 months(ish) since I last opened it because it's been winter and cold and obviously not roof-down-weather! Also a couple of months ago I had a bit of a bump on a grass verge and both latches came undone, there was beeping and bonging and everything but I simply closed them again and everything seemed fine... (stupidly I didn't get it checked out)
Now the bloody roof won't open! Everything is done (blind across, car in ignition, handbrake on..blah blah) I pull the switch and there's nothing! there's no noise when I release the latches.. no bleeps or bongs or anything!
Could it be because 2 months have gone by and I haven't opened the roof?
Could I have broken something when I hit the grass verge?

I'm gutted! How expensive is this going to be?! I'd really like to know if I can resolve this issue myself! Any help would be MUCH APPRECIATED!! Thank you :)

I take it you are not getting the chime when you unlatch both the roof latches?
If so, first thing is check the 2 roof micro switches. There is a guide on here http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/repair-20 ... ab0af3.htm
Cheers Col.

:love-thx: Thank you for your help! But I am still completely lost... reading that is like scanning over an Ikea instruction booklet and failing!

There are no chimes or noises at all, it feels like it could be a bigger problem than I thought. I can't see the microswitches... I know I'm probably just being completely stupid! eeeek SO frustrating! Am I going to have to ask a man?!!
