New but with sad news..

Post by Sparkler »

Well here I am two years after buying my lovely little 206cc, I wrote it off on Monday morning as I hit a deer that ran out into the road without warning.
I have to say I am lucky to be here. As the animal collided square on with the front of the car, the bonnet released and flew upwards flat against the windscreen. While this is not a good way to try and stop from 50mph it seems to have saved me from serious injury, if not my life as there were wet blood marks where the animal had bounced off what would have been the windscreen. The airbag didn't go off though which is very worrying.
I am now driving the company car down the same road each day very very slowly.
And I'm now on the look out for another convertible. Looking for a top spec 206cc or maybe even a 207cc but definitely with trip computer, cruise control etc.
Anyway, it's good to be back here again, hello to all :)

Sorry to hear of the demise of your car but it sounds like you had a close shave...glad you're OK. A couple of deer ran out in front of me one early morning, I live in a town, I didn't even know there was deer in the wild, fortunately they weren't that close to the car.

Let us know what you get as a replacement won't you!

Life's too short to drive around with your top on! :D

Yes i'll let you know. I am tempted to get another 206cc just because the insurance will be lower. They reduced my nine years no claims to 3 years! :(
But yes a close shave.. I will post a pic but can't yet as on iPad!

Wow - sounds horrific! I was once driving a Ford Galaxy when a deer suddenly jumped into the road ahead - luckily I had time to brake but it was a close shave!
:yikes:
People who don't like cats were probably mice in an earlier life.
