Roof beep warnings

Beeping warning noises - my 206cc SE keeps making warning sounds (slow beeps then fast beeps) - I think it's connected to the fact that while loading the boot I accidentally pulled the white cord on the left of the panel inside the boot which I THINK has something to do with the roof mechanism. I got the AA out, the man couldn't solve the probmelm but agreed it's probably to do with the roof. He said let's try to put the roof down, and it doesn't work (was fine yesterday tho) - any advice plz?? Many thanks
