I have never done it myself but the manual says:

Open the boot lid and unclip the lens cover from the light unit.
Using a small screwdriver unclip the light unit from the boot lid panel, and then disconnect the wiring connector as the light unit is removed.
Carefully unclip and remove the lens from the number plate light unit. The bulb is of the capless (push-fit) type, and can be removed by simply pulling it out of the light unit.
Refitting is the reverse of the removal procedure, ensuring that the lens is securely clipped in position.

Good luck. Let us know how you get on.

Both ours broke when I tried (old hardened plastic probably)

So having pinched them out of the hatchback, which wasn't in use at the time, I put them in the CC.

I then bought a new pair complete with bulbs of fleabay and put those in the hatchback

Did one on mine.

Put a small screw driver into the hole in the plastic tab (either side, doesnt matter), then gently push that away from the lens, it should then unclip
